Office display logos and signage – helping you tell your story

Over the years there have been a good number of requests for office / reception area logos and signs. If you want to make a good first impression in visitors to your organization’s offices, there are not many better places to start.

Here are a few examples:

Large facility like universities need to make it clear where various offices are. Here is some of the work we did for California Baptist University in Riverside, CA

A corporate (or branch) office needs to make an impression, of course – like this Colliers International office we provided office signage for in Encino CA.

Medical offices convey the professionalism of their office and services with professionally designed and produced office signage. Here is work we did for Brain and Spine Institute in Irvine CA.

This signage included the ADA door plaque shown to the right of the entry door.

Just one more… a corporate conference room. This was a fun design created by the client – Customfab in Garden Grove CA (a contract manufacturing company) – they wanted to create a bit of privacy for the clear glass doors off the main foyer, so they made a pattern of graphics representing their services. The pattern was cut in etch-look vinyl material leaving the majority of the glass appearing frosted. We also created and applied a vinyl branding band and graphics around the inside of the room.

Recent work – step-by-step, the story of these painted exterior graphics – Golden Road Brewing, Anaheim CA

Recent work over on the hand-painted side of Big City…

Sign Painter for Los Angeles - San Diego - Southern California - Sign Painting - Mural Painting - Big City Supergraphics

In November 2017, the Big City crew painted this building exterior at Golden Road Brewing in Anaheim, Orange County, CA.

As always, the work starts with a plan, a design. The client had provided a fairly complete plan of eye-catching graphics that they wanted to cover pretty much all the exterior wall surfaces of their 250 ft x 150 ft (approx.) building.

Here is a portion of their rendering.

Here is my scale drawing based on their layouts.

Then it was on to making patterns. These are the paper full-size pen-plotter drawings that are perforated using the old Electro-Pounce pen system. Then white or black powder is pushed through the perforations when the paper is held in place on the building. This is how designs are typically transferred full-size to the surface.

The zig-zag lines were marked at their angle-points then connected with a snap-line.

On-site, work began with paint…

Recent work – cost-effective Costco signage

Recent work over on the hand-painted side of Big City!

Sign Painter for Los Angeles - San Diego - Southern California - Sign Painting - Mural Painting - Big City Supergraphics

Your humble sign painter got a little cost-effective sign painting in today, for Costco Carmel Mountain in the San Diego area. The manager told me their monument sign’s painted letters didn’t match the corporate logo – I can completely understand why it bugged him!

Here is the “before” picture – the “o'” and “s” shapes were wrong in “Costco”, and the “s” was the same odd shape in “wholesale”.

After taking careful dimensions I went back to the shop to prepare. With the proper logo in hand, I created the paper pattern to transfer the design to the monument, to know where to paint – and paint out the malformed letters.

On site, I matched the background color by eye, then painted out the offending letter shapes.

Then, on to painting the client’s correct corporate logo. I also took a moment to refresh all the red, since it’s a color…
