RECENT WORK - CUSTOM INTERIOR PAINT GRAPHICS ON WOOD WALL

At Capistrano Valley Christian Schools (www,cvcs.org) in San Juan Capistrano, Orange County CA this week - I was asked to provide a part of the design for this presentation room on campus called The Nest.

The designer, Sandra Vila Design House (www.sandravila.com) requested these graphics be done in transparent stain on repurposed gym floor wood installed in a herringbone pattern on the walls. Here are some details about the project…

From client-supplied vector files, I cut specialized paint mask material in strips and mounted them onto the wood background. The image area was lightly scuffed with 3M pads to help paint adhesion…

Then the paint was applied. This was a mix of a matte finish oil-based clear and 1-Shot paint colors to provide a transparent stain look… you can still see the wood slats through the artwork.

Over on the other side of the room, the school's Academic logo was to be done in the same manner.
